Kris Stultz, Roanoke City Schools

Do you know how to calculate your character number? How to pick the date when your spells are most likely to work? If not, you must plan to attend lessons with our Arithmancy professor, Kris Stultz!

Stultz did her undergraduate work at Roanoke College, graduating with a BA in English. In May 2017, she graduated from Hollins University with a Master of Fine Arts in Children’s Literature - Creative Writing. Along with her fellow graduates, she says Hollins is her Hogwarts. She is a proud member of the house of Hufflepuff.

Her thesis, "Pied Piper of Scottswood," was a runner-up for the 2015 Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Award. While at Hollins, she also had the honor of presenting at the Francelia Butler Conference in 2015. Since graduating, Stultz has refocused her efforts into teaching, and this fall she looks forward to teaching seventh grade English for Roanoke City Schools.
